The Ottawa Veterinary Behaviour Services is here to help you and your patients by providing compassionate solutions for pet behaviour problems. We work together with you, the client’s primary veterinarian, as part of this process.

Continuing Education for Clinics

At this appointment you can let Dr. Nicholson know the behaviours of concern that you are dealing with and she will guide you in the right direction for what is needed for your pet. She will not be able to make a diagnosis or prescribe medication after a brief consult, and there is no written follow-up with you or your primary vet. The brief consultation is suited for clients who are uncertain if their pet requires a full consultation for their behaviour(s) of concern.

This consultation takes place in one scheduled session of approximately 1.5 hours. There will be a review of the behaviours of concern, any medical
history that may be contributing, as well
as a discussion to help you better understand your pet's behaviour and then we will
go over the treatment plan including behaviour modification, environmental management, monitoring and medications that might be necessary. Prognosis is also discussed.

Webinars and in person presentations for
clinics are also available on topics such as
pre-visit anti-anxiety medications
(why, what, when)
and how to easily incorporate behaviour
into your practice. If you have a particular
topic or area of interest that you would like
covered, we can do that as well.
